Following the Antarctic-like weather that hit Otago overnight on Monday 3 August, an early call was made to postpone the trip to Puketapu, with an intent to substitute with a walk down the Silverstream to its confluence with the Taieri River.

A frosty 2 degrees start for 25 happy hikers as we headed off beside a very muddy and flooded Taieri River.

On a beautiful day 43 persons, being the Trampers and the Hikers, headed into the Mt Allan Taioma area.
