A couple of town folk were there to join us and 21 of us then set off down the road and up through a hidden lane taking us out onto Kinvig Street where we stopped at a park for morning tea in a sheltered possie with plenty of seating.

We then walked up Every Street in Dunedin (ha ha). Well, the top part of it, leading onto Highcliff Road, passing the now empty Shiel Hill Tavern (which was pretty popular in its day) with lovely views overlooking Tomahawk and the Lagoon. Carrying on up we soon arrived at Rotary Park where we were to have lunch but 11am was a bit early so we made the decision to carry on after taking some time out to admire the wonderful vista.

Pam had discovered a secret track down to Harbour Heights which continued onto Connell Street and we then found ourselves at the top of Arthur’s Walk steps (286 of them).

Taking our time we soon arrived at the Vauxhall Yacht Club at noon but decided to carry on back around to Bayfield Park where there was plenty of seating out of the wind.

After a leisurely lunch we climbed up Sunshine Lane onto Rewa Street, where there were more views to be had, then over to Musselburgh and back to the cars. 11.2ks was the call and we felt it deserved a 2.5 grade. Refreshments were enjoyed at Nichols by all and a stroll around the beautiful garden by some. All in all an enjoyable time had by all. Leaders Pam and Jenny with Jan tail end Charlie.
