We had 20 happy trampers arrive at Outram for our walk on Wednesday.

We parked in Holyhead Street along from the Four Square.

Jill led us off alongside the main road heading for a new track towards the Historic Park. It is a great idea currently being developed and zig zags up some way, then ends up behind the park.

There is a wee track and some lovely bush up behind the park which we explored, following up and down to the most beautiful spot by the Traquair Burn for a relaxing morning tea.

Returning back along this track we then headed for the Outram Glen. After all the rain and wind recently, it was still in good order and is a lovely bush walk.

A steady pace up the hill we arrived at the end by 12.30 for lunch by the Taieri river which was flowing fairly rapidly.

Having enjoyed our half hour lunch break we made our way back out of Outram Glen …….

……. and then along the river bank behind Fergusons property and back to our cars. With time left to enjoy an ice cream before heading home. A most enjoyable 14 km tramp.
