30/07/2025. Waldronville. Grade 2. Hikers. Leaders: Avis and Rhonda.
On a questionable weather day 15 of us set off to meet up with the Brighton contingent at the estuary’s car park which brought our number up to 20.
At this time we had left the fog behind us in Mosgiel.
We enjoyed a lovely walk around the boundary of the Island Park golf course and just missed being hit by a golf ball from the men’s Tee Shot at the number 1 hole as we approached the club house to have morning tea.

The sand dunes by Beachlands didn’t pose to much of a problem.

We all soon enjoyed the beach walk to the Blackhead Quarry car park, after carefully passing between 2 seals (who actually paid little heed to us walking between them).

Lunch at car park gave us a lovely view of the beach and coastline.

We walked single file along the road and safely made it back to Waldronville where, with it starting to rain, it was decided to forego the walk through the mosaic lane and head back to the cars and off to the Village Green, where Phil and Dave were waiting to share afternoon tea with us. (Some did quickly look down the lane).

An enjoyable day was had by us all.
