09/07/2025. Coutts Farm. Grade 3. Hikers. Leaders: Bruce Wright and Peter Beal.
Left Memorial Park carpark at 9.30am and travelled to Taieri Mouth, meeting up with Brighton hikers at Coutts Gully Road carpark.
Before starting our walk 12 Hikers enjoyed a flat white or hot chocolate at Sharon & Tubby’s coffee cart known as ‘The Corner’.

We then headed off along the beach in windy conditions for a short stroll and on through the dunes to Livingstone Green Reserve.

This is an estuary area where there is great bird life. Back onto Coutts Road and up to the farm block. Caution was now required as conditions under foot were wet and sticky.

We enjoyed good views of Moturalo Island from up on the farm paddocks

From here we walked down the farm track to the culvert over Gully Creek where we stopped for lunch.

The local farmer arrived and inspected our lunch boxes. Yes we do support Beef & Lamb!!

Continued on down the hill arriving back to ‘The Corner’ for another coffee.

13km completed. A good day out with a good bunch. Thank you Bruce for standing in as tail end Charlie.
