This trip commences at Allans Beach carpark and ascends through farmland to the summit of Mt Charles overlooking Papanui Inlet and Allans Beach. It also includes a visit to the Cape Saunders lighthouse and Puddingstone Rock.

Road distances from Mosgiel carpark.
Car parking is off SH1 motorway at Leith Saddle yard (alternatively down side road at bridge (restricted space).
Walk across side road to track.
Going further: along road past doppler radar to DoC sign.
Right along Rustlers Ridge track to junction with Burns Track.
Through junction and up and round hill on Rustlers Ridge Track. (Lunch on hill)
Down ridge to pipeline. (Alternatively turn right at junction for Burns and down to pipeline)
Turn right along pipeline.
5.5 hours in all.

The McNally Track was developed by the Milton Rotary in 1980 and is still maintained by them today. The track is clearly marked with marker poles and is suitable for a Combined trip.
How To Get There:
(1) Milton township turn left opposite Presbyterian Church, turn left at Ossian Street and follow on down Moore and Tokoiti Streets to Cemetery near which is the entrance to the McNally Walkway. Park cars by the side of the road.
(2) Turn left off SH1 at the kink in the road onto Springfield Road. Follow Springfield Road to the sawmill and turn right onto Cemetery Road. Turn right onto Cemetery Road and continue to the Cemetery which is the entrance to the McNally walkway
