03/06/2026. Deep Stream Pipeline. Grade 3. Combined. Leaders: Sylvie Watt and Wendy Langley.
On a lovely day we all set out heading to the Deep Stream bridge just beyond Clarkes where the Mc Donalds had opened their gate so we could all park in the paddock.

Once packs and Leki poles were organised, off we all went.

Morning tea was 10.30am sitting on or near the concrete water pipes.

The views looking down below us where the Deep Stream meandered down thru the gorge the calling of the seabirds who come in to perch on the cliff side of the gorge were a treat.

Eventually we reached a lovely spot to have our lunch, once upon a time there was a tunnel here but the farmers locked it due to cattle getting stuck while mustering.

On our return it was counting heads to make sure we are all accounted for a certain person hard of hearing thought it was counting legs 86 not heads 43 his name shall remain anonymous.!!!!

Many thanks to the McDonalds and Stevensons for allowing us to traverse thru their properties it’s such a privilege also my team mates Sarah with her map expertise and Wendy my guide. All those who participated on the day well done.

11 km. Tramp time 5 1/2 hrs. Ascent 540m. 43 persons.
