08/10/2025. Daphne/Big Stone Roads, Brighton. Grade 3. Trampers. Leaders: Sylvie Watt & Lyn Keene
On a perfect day 22 trampers set off. 2 cars were left at the bottom off Big Stone Rd.

Once we were on the journey starting at Daphne Rd it was not long before we then got onto Kathleen Rd (all the roads in this area are named after women) it was a steady climb to a disused old gravel pit we had morning tea.
Lyn Keene had borrowed Walkie Talkie radios which were shared with the group it got a big tick for maybe a future purchase.

Arriving at Big Stone Rd we turned right and walked along Big Stone Rd. At some time there was a house on the left with beautiful daffodils sadly nothing remains it all in trees. Lovely Jane sent a note to say it was the Flett family.

We took the McLaren Gully Rd and took the “No Name Road”. 11.55am it’s lunch time we were anxious to find out how powerful the radios receptions were, result really good.

We now have come to another “No Name Rd” it’s up and around Lobb’s Hill then onto Big Stone Rd.

Once at the 2 cars the Drivers were ferried back to the start of Daphne Rd while others walked the beach.

Coffee and Ice-creams were at Brighton. Tramp 12Km total 4hrs. Beach walkers extra 2km total 20min. The walk the talk the banter big tick.
