Twenty two people set off- and returned- on a stunningly beautiful day. Destination, Mountain Cargill. Morning tea was enjoyed in a clearing just off the track about halfway up – very pleasant sitting in sunshine.

Remarkably there was next to no wind at the top, where we had a very relaxed lunch stop.

No issues on the return trip either. Blacks Road grocery shop was a great place for a cuppa/ice cream on the way home. It’s only 9 kms maximum, with an elevation 500m+, – having said that I think we all knew we had been for a stroll, except perhaps our three intrepid explorers who are soon to leave our shores for Spain. They glided effortlessly up and back.
Thanks to all for a great day out.
Graeme and Esther
