3/4 cup brown sugar
1 cup bran
1 cup wholemeal flour and 1 tspn BP OR 1 cup self-raising flour
1 cup mixed fruit
1/4 cup wheat germ
1 cup milk
1 tspn vanilla essence
Mix all together in bowl.
Put in lined loaf tin.
Bake at 180C for 1 hour.

6 weetbix
500ml milk
500g fruit
1.5 cups sugar
Put all ingredients into bowl and stand for 5 hours or more.
Add 3 cups self-raising flour and stir.
Put mixture into 2 loaf tins.
Bake 1 hour at 150C.

1 large cup water
225g raisins
1 large cup sugar
25g butter
Boil together 3 minutes
When cool, add following dry ingredients:
2 cups flour
1 tspn baking soda
1/2 tspn mixed spice or cinnamon
1/2 tspn ground cloves (I sometimes add a few chopped walnuts as well).
Bake in medium over 1 hour at 140C.

1 cup sugar
1 tblspn butter
1/2 tspn salt
2 tspns BP
1 level tspn cinnamon
1 egg
1 cup milk
2 cups flour
2 level tspns mixed spice
1 cup nuts and sultanas mixed.
Sift flour, baking powder, spices and salt.
Rub in butter.
Add sugar and fruit and mix together.
Beat egg and add milk to it.
Mix with dry ingredients.
Bake at 180C for 1 hour.

3 medium bananas
1/2 cup melted butter
1 tspn salt
1 beaten egg
1 cup sugar
2 cups flour
1 tspn baking soda
1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Mash bananas and cover with sugar.
Add beaten egg and melted butter.
Add sifted dry ingredients.
Add nuts.
Pour into well-buttered loaf tin.
Bake 1 hour at 350C

1 cup water
1 tblspn butter
2 cups flour
1 tspn BP
1/2 tspn salt
1/2 cup nuts
1/2 tspn mixed spice
1/2 tspn baking soda
Boil sugar and sultanas, water and milk together.
Let cool.
Add flour, baking powder, salt, nuts, spice and baking soda.
Bake in a greased tin.
Moderate oven 45 minutes.
