Clove Loaf – Audrey

1 large cup water
225g raisins
1 large cup sugar
25g butter
Boil together 3 minutes
When cool, add following dry ingredients:

2 cups flour
1 tspn baking soda
1/2 tspn mixed spice or cinnamon
1/2 tspn ground cloves (I sometimes add a few chopped walnuts as well).
Bake in medium over 1 hour at 140C.
