01/04/2026. Life member, Lester is turning 95
Before we left Memorial Park on Wednesday ,we had an early acknowledgment of our oldest life member of the club ,Lester Harvey’s imminent 95th birthday.
Lester will be with almost all of his family on the 13 th of April to share this amazing achievement. Lester had made the cake and afghans (he is still a very keen baker.)He was also out walking with us up until December when he joined us at Lee Stream for the pre-Christmas shared lunch. However, on Wednesday he arrived on his mobility scooter though he has his car and current license which he still uses. Lester wanted to do this baking as he was very humbled 5 years ago when we had a special celebration at the Momona Hall for his 90th birthday. We were also privileged to have 2 other senior life members, Jim and Betty Finnie, present to acknowledge this memorable event.
Happy birthday was sung then away we went to Waitati for our combined walk .
