MINUTES OF THE 30th ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING OF THE TAIERI RECREATIONAL TRAMPING CLUB HELD AT THE MCKERROW LOUNGE, MOSGIEL PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH ON THURSDAY, 22 AUGUST 2019 AT 1.30 PM

MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETINGS Minutes of 2018 AGM were taken as read having been previously circulated. Moved A Heenan, seconded M Spittle that they be confirmed as a true and accurate record.

CORRESPONDENCE: Inward – Dunedin Street Art – thanks for $156 donation Bendigo Valley Sports Foundation $400 grant Outward- Grant application – Bendigo Valley Sports Foundation

Moved S Munro, seconded K McInnes that the correspondence be accepted. Carried 

PRESIDENTS REPORT President, J Dodd, presented her report for the year. Once again club membership has increased over the last year with over 100 members. Extra activities included a 5 day camp in the Hollyford Valley, a bus trip to Strath Taieri to walk from Daisybank to Hyde, and an evening for the cycling component of the club. The Xmas lunch was held at the Berwick Adventure Lodge, and the mid year lunch at the Wharf Hotel, preceded by a walk around the street art precinct. We also celebrated Doug Moir’s 90th birthday with a walk, followed by lunch at Alan Scurr and Kerry Popham’s home at East Taieri.

Moved J Dodd, seconded E Ryan that the President’s report be adopted. Carried 

FINANCIAL REPORT Financial statement for the year ended 30/6/19 was presented by the treasurer. Bank balance stands at $843.41, petty cash $4.60. Funds had increased in the 2018/19 financial year owing to the number of new members.

Moved J Yardley, seconded J Wright that the financial report be adopted. Carried 

Subscriptions: Moved J Yardley, seconded M Smith that subs remain at $5, plus $10 joining fee for new members. Carried 

Auditor: Moved J Yardley, seconded I Fleming, that Keith Mackenzie, Consultant Accountant continue as auditor if he is available Carried 

Secretarial Honorarium – moved J Gardiner, seconded C Crossman, that the $50 secreterial honorarium be paid annually. Carried 

ELECTION OF OFFICE BEARERS 

President: Arthur Heenan (Moved S Munro, seconded G Grant) Carried. Vice-President: Phil Keene (Moved E Ryan, seconded T White) Carried Secretary/Treasurer: Jan Yardley (Moved A Heenan, seconded C Hughes) Carried Past President: Jill Dodd Webmaster: Ian Fleming Committee: Eleanore Ryan, Jan Butcher, Neil Morrison, Keith Munro to continue.

GENERAL: Car parking: owing to the larger number of members decided to change the meeting place from the Bush Road car park to the Peter Johnstone car park, to take effect from September 4.

Moved J Dodd, seconded K McInnes. Carried 

Membership – concerns expressed re the increasing numbers of members, and the difficulty keeping groups together. Decided not to put a cap on the club numbers, but management of groups would be at the discretion of the leaders on the day. The group could be split in two, and a third leader appointed .

Club shirts – some interest in purchasing club shirts, and Jill Dodd to investigate again. Bruce Spittle to investigate the possibility and cost of club motif only. Members would supply their own shirts.

Ian Fleming was thanked for his work on the website, and presented with a voucher.

There was no other business, and the meeting closed at 2.15 pm.

Guest speaker, Trevor Pullar spoke about his long involvement with Search and Rescue. Prior to his talk, Judy Knox read an account of an incident with a fellow tramper in the Olivine which initiated his interest in search and rescue. Thanked by Judy.

Afternoon tea concluded the meeting.
