Minutes of the 25th Annual General Meeting of the Taieri Recreational Tramping Club held in the Mosgiel Presbyterian Church McKerrow Room on 25 August 2012 at 1.30 p.m.

MINUTES. B Harvey moved that the minutes of the 24th Annual General Meeting held on 24 August 2011, having be circulated, be taken as read and confirmed. Seconded C Hughes. Carried.
CORRESPONDENCE. There was no correspondence.
ANNUAL REPORT.
President B Harvey presented her report. I Fleming moved it’s adoption. Seconded, L Gowans. Carried.
FINANCIAL REPORT.
I Fleming presented the audited Statement of Accounts, and moved that it be adopted. Seconded, L Smith.
LOCATOR BEACONS. P Bathgate and I Fleming approved logs of tramps taken with beacons.
NOTICE OF MOTION.
The following amendment to the Constitution, having be previously circulated, was presented as follows:
- The entire management of the Club, its social arrangements and property shall be deputed to a Committee consisting of a PRESIDENT, VICE PRESIDENT, IMMEDIATE PAST PRESIDENT, SECRETARY/TREASURER or SECRETARY and TREASURER and up to 6 (6) other members, plus PUBLICITY OFFICER.
(Note: The amendment now omits the name of “HON. AUDITOR”, to demonstrate the Auditor’s objective detachment from the Club’s administration.)
I Fleming proposed the amendment, seconded K McVie. Carried.
ELECTION OF OFFICE BEARERS.
PRESIDENT.
President B Harvey handed the Chair over to Immediate Past President W McLean.
W McLean called for nominations.
C Hughes nominated B Harvey, seconded R Lippers.
There were no other nominations.
W McLean declared B Harvey re-elected President. (Applause.)
VICE PRESIDENT.
B Harvey called for nominations.
I Fleming nominated K McVie. Seconded, P Clough.
There were no further nominations.
B Harvey declared K McVie elected. (Applause).
SECRETARY-TREASURER.
D Moir nominated I Fleming. Seconded R Lippers.
There were no further nominations.
B Harvey declared I Fleming elected. (Applause).
HONORARY AUDITOR.
I Fleming nominated T Stratton. Seconded, B Harvey.
There were no further nominations.

B Harvey read out the names of the members of out-going committee available for re-nomination, viz D Bennett, L Gowans, C Hughes, L Smith; and proposed their re-nomination. Seconded M Smith.

There were no further nominations.
B Harvey declared the above people nominated, re-elected. (Applause).
GENERAL BUSINESS.
THANKS TO PROPERTY OWNERS. I Fleming displayed thank-you notes now sent from the Trampers within the beautiful cards created by H Leslie. C Hughes pointed out that similar acknowledgements were sent from the Hikers using B Harvey’s material.
GIFTS. I Fleming presented a number of gift tokens distributed as follows:
Voucher to B Harvey for the photocopying she attends to during the year.
Voucher to H Leslie from her wonderful cards presented on occasions of sympathy, congratulations or acknowledgement.
Voucher to J Knox for her address.
Voucher to S Fleming for her hospitality of Committee meetings.
CAVING-TRAMPING TRIP 27-28 OCTOBER.
I Hebbard presented the outline of a trip he was organizing 27/28 October along with a sheet containing full details.
CLUB LIBRARY.
B Harvey put the books of the small library on a table. She observed how dated it was, how little it was used or known about any more and that it just took up storage space. She proposed the books be taken by anyone interested. There was favourable discussion.
I Fleming moved that the Library be discontinued and that books be available for collection. Seconded L Smith. Carried.
LIFE MEMBER.
B Harvey presented a Life Membership certificate to I Fleming.
B Harvey declared the meeting closed.
ADDRESS.
J Knox presented a power-point address of recent tramps in Peru: the Inca Trail and the circumnavigation of Mount Ausengate.
This was followed by refreshments, including receipt of 27 subscriptions, taken by D Bennett and L Smith.
