09/03/2025 to 14/03/2025 . Queenstown Camp – Mt Crichton Loop, Sawpit Gully, German Hill, Bush Creek. Trampers & Hikers. Leaders: Anne and Rod Ward, Di and Chris Bezett.

A very interesting gold mining area with remains of slicing and a small settlement where Sam Summers Hut has been restored along with the information boards telling the story of his family life and activities in the area, the walkers continued to the summit and over to a lookout that included Lake Dispute Lake, the Walkway and Home Hill peak.

a steep climb up the gully and through the valley to a morning tea spot next to a miners hut,

which would have been pleasant had there not been a cold southerly, we carry jackets all year so nice to wear them now and again, great views for the short time on top.

The tramp then progressed down to the intersection with Bush Creek,

we walked up bush creek for 45 mins which is a track shared with mountain bikers, this had great waterfalls, waterways and rock formations it was steep at places with lots of zig-zags with quite an elevation gain.

This track is worth completing on another visit in the future.
Evening meal prepared by Raewyn and her team.
