Queenstown Camp 2025 Day 1: Queenstown Hill, Wilson’s Bay, Bobs Cove

Monday 10th March

Walkers to Bobs Cove, the 9 walkers lead by Chris and Di headed to Bobs Cove parking area and headed right along the Bridle track in native bush just above the lake, this walk included great selection of trees including large Beech trees

and lots of nice bush, morning tea was at a small secluded beach where the competition started for skipping flat stones.

After walking back to the carpark the group headed left around the Bob’s Cove 12 Mile track checking out the historic Kiln around Picnic Point and the well known Derelict Hut,

then a short steepish climb up to the elevated picnic and lunch stop.

a wander back to the carpark for a very informative and enjoyable walk in beautiful weather.

4kms round trip with a 500m vertical climb to overlook all of Queenstown and the surrounding mountains, information panels to show the past, present and future of Queenstown.

then downhill for a quick trip in the cars along Glenorchy road to 7 Mile Car Park for lunch

and then a nice walk around to Wilsons Bay a total on 7.2 kms.

This is a lovely walk sharing space with mountain bikers, two tramps on the day and well received.

Everybody back to accommodation to another good meal managed by Di and her team.
