17 trampers set out on a lovely Wednesday morning.

The first part of the track was through the felled pine forest and then we headed down into the bush.

The track was steep and slippery with everyone being careful where they put their feet. Thanks to the assistance of the two Grahams we got all into the gully without major incidence although a few groans when informed we were coming back out the same way.

A short walk in the open along McIntyres Road to the beginning of the water race track. On to the ruins of the aqueduct that carried the water race to Dunedin for our lunch spot, where we found a bit of sun.

Following lunch 4 creek crossings had us back at our morning tea spot. Then the grunt back out of the gully and back to the cars. Not a long walk but a good adventure. Sylvie suggested to Julie that the grade may have been more like a 5 than a 4. Great days walking.
