31/07/2024 Mosgiel Ramble. Grade 2. Hikers. Leaders: Ady Whiston, Jenny Finnerty
With the weather the way it was Jenny decided for a walk around Mosgiel (good decision).
We set off from PJ Park at about 9.30am. 13 turned out with a couple of trampers which was great. Lots of chatter and laughs. Down Murray St, onto Wingatui Road, along Gladstone Road where we had a discussion about stairs at Joe Brown Ave.
By unanimous decision we carried on to Quarry Road up to Kinmont and went under main road to The Grange. Would you believe that it was 11.30 when we got there so it was lunch time at Cafe. Where everybody was quite happy to sit for 3/4 hour.
Off again passed railway station, Gordon Road. Another unanimous decision to High Street but I was the leader so turned into Church St. instead. We didn’t get back to PJ Park till about 1.45pm.
Jenny in her wisdom said it will only be a short walk. Yeh right 11.5km later. With the argy bargy between Jenny and I, I think everybody had a few laughs and a lovely day.
Knackered.
