About

Welcome to the Taieri Recreational Tramping Club

We meet, during the summer months September to May, Wednesday mornings at 8.45 a.m. for 9.00 a.m. prompt departure at the Peter Johnstone Park car park, Reid Avenue, Mosgiel.
In the winter months, June to August, time is 9.15 a.m. for 9.30 a.m. prompt departure.
When weather conditions are doubtful, final decisions may be made at the car park. The onus is on those not meeting at the carpark to contact the nominated trip leaders in advance, and to check in with them if the weather is doubtful.

We usually divide into two groups:

TRAMPERS: Reasonably good fitness. Return afternoon tea time or after.

HIKERS: Moderate walkers. Return afternoon tea time or before.

The two above groups have separate programmes except for the first Wednesday of each month when the groups combine.  Emergency beacons are carried by both groups.

Membership. We welcome people of all ages who wish to tramp/hike on a Wednesday.

New members are expected to take part in 3 hikes/tramps before being considered for membership.

See 06. Trip Organisation Guidelines for more information re trips.

    1. Hi Imogen
Best/official email address would be that of our club’s secretary: Janice Yardley,
